Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • 2 Flat Plates
  • Medium Bowl

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup low carb bread crumbs See notes on how to make low carb bread crumbs
  • 1 lbs thin cut top round beef steaks alternately, you can pound steaks, chicken or pork into thinner steaks using a meat mallet or heavy pan
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic minced & mashed
  • 2 large eggs beaten slightly
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying enough to cover pan about an 1/8 inch
  • salt to taste, optional

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, slightly whisk eggs
  • Finely chop and then, using the back of a knife, smash garlic into a paste and place into your egg bowl. Add pepper
    2 cloves fresh garlic
  • In a large, flat dish, spread bread crumbs, add salt and mix together well.
3/4 cup low carb bread crumbs

Breading Process

  • Dip each steak, one at a time, into the beaten eggs and coat on both sides.
  • Allow excess egg to drip off the steak and then lay on bread crumbs to coat. Repeat on both sides with all steaks and set on a clean plate.

Frying Instructions

  • Heat, over medium high heat, enough oil to fill a large frying pan about 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep.
  • Once hot, lay breaded steaks into the hot oil and fry 2-3 minutes on each side. You're looking for a golden brown color.
  • Place the cooked steaks on to a paper towel-lined plate or baking sheet while you cook the remaining steaks.
  • Note: If preparing many steaks, preheat your oven to warm and place finished steaks in oven while cooking the remaining. Try not to stack steaks as the moisture will soften the breadcrumbs.
